NT Radiant Barrier 4800 P The P Series of the 4800 Radiant Barrier Line is perforated (has small holes) to allow for breathability. This sheet is composed of a single layer of woven polyethylene, bonded to and sandwiched between two highly reflective radiant barrier sheets.

NT Radiant Barrier 4800 S: The S Series of the 4800 Radiant Barrier Line is solid versus having perforated holes and is composed of a single layer of woven polyethylene, bonded to and sandwiched between two highly reflective radiant barrier sheets.

Should I use Solid or Perforated?

A perforated radiant barrier is a breathable barrier and is generally recommended to be used in areas that have moving air like that in an attic or on the exterior of a building or house (house wrap). Without the perforations or holes, moisture would likely get trapped behind the barrier causing damage to the structure over time. A solid radiant barrier is most often recommended in Cool Climate Zones (northern) on the interior wall side. If you are unsure of what version to use either call your local building inspector/department or email us through our contact form.
